100 to 200 Amp Panel Upgrade Done Right

Most homes built a few decades ago were wired for a 100 amp service. That was fine back then. But today's homes run a lot more - EV chargers, heat pumps, high-draw appliances, home offices. A 100 amp panel just wasn't built to handle all of it comfortably.

Here's what we were working with on this one - an old, weathered panel that had clearly been pushed to its limits for years. Handwritten notes on the cover, corroded breakers, and a setup that had no room to grow. Not the kind of thing you want running your home's electrical system.

We pulled that old panel and brought in a new 200 amp setup. That's double the capacity. It gives the homeowner room for everything they're running now, plus plenty of headroom for whatever comes next. No more maxed-out circuits, no more worrying about tripping breakers when multiple things run at once.

Beyond the added capacity, there's a real safety angle here too. Old panels can develop issues over time - loose connections, degraded components, breakers that don't trip when they should. A new panel means everything is up to current code and working the way it's supposed to. That's a big deal for peace of mind.
